Celebrating over 120 years of maritime history, the Bessie Ellen offers an immersive and authentic sailing experience that connects you directly to the traditions of the early 20th century. At 35 meters long, this historic wooden ship specializes in exploring the wild and rugged coastlines of the Scottish Hebrides, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly. With a maximum of 12 guests, you are treated as an active part of the crew, invited to help hoist the heavy canvas sails, take the helm, and master traditional navigation under the expert guidance of Skipper Nikki Alford. Life on the Bessie Ellen is defined by its warm, communal atmosphere and exceptional "sea-to-table" catering. The former cargo hold has been transformed into a spacious, wood-paneled saloon where guests sleep in cozy curtained bunks and share gourmet meals prepared from locally sourced produce. For the 2026 season, the ship is embarking on a special "120th Anniversary Round Britain Tour," featuring rare voyages to the uninhabited island of St. Kilda and "Whisky Sailing" tours of Islay and Jura.
